Who does this look like to you?

DSC01004

This photo was taken on 9/27/08 at that pier or whatever it is off of Pratt Beach. It's in the same place as the Keep Clean photo I posted yesterday. While we were there, my boyfriend and I stared at it, but we couldn't figure out who it was. A friend suggested it might be Joe Piscopo, and I can see that. Any other suggestions?

Keep Clean

Keep Clean

Until last weekend I couldn't remember the last time I saw someone throw trash out of a car window. I know it happens because I see rubbish all over the place, but I think the last time I saw someone toss something out of their car window was when I was in high school.

We were driving either to or from the suburbs last weekend, and sure enough, whoever was driving the car in front of us threw a bunch of napkins out the window. It was actually shocking to me. What is wrong with people? Is it really that difficult to wait until you get where you are going to throw a few napkins away?

This is something you don't normally see in Chicago

dead

Taken 9/19/08 on the floor in front of the conference room of my hotel in Ft. Meyers, Florida.

I swear it was already dead when I saw it.

I love Eddie Vedder

I can't believe I keep forgetting to post this!

I was on the Red Line a couple of weeks ago. There were two people, a man and a woman, having a conversation in front of me. They weren't sitting on the same set of two seats, but they were right by each other. I got the impression they were strangers who struck up conversation, but to be fair I wasn't really paying attention. I was knitting and occasionally chatting with my boyfriend.

I realized that they really knew each other when the woman started talking about how it had been a while since she had seen him, then added that she was surprised to see him on TV. She started asking him about the experience.

He started talking about how some other woman (former girlfriend or wife I'm guessing) and he decided to go on television to find out whether he was the father of her child. They flew out separately, were in separate limos, and didn't see each other until the show was taping. Turns out, he's not the father. I couldn't tell if he was happy or sad about this news. I also gather that this didn't just happen a few weeks ago, it seemed to have been a while, at least a few months. At least that's what I gathered from the way he was talking about it.

How much do you want to bet the guy was on Maury?

Now I haven't seen everything

I was annoyed on my commute home today by the men who kept sitting next to me on the train. They were the sort of guys who spread out as much as they can and leave you very little room. One of them was a skinny guy who still took up more of my seat than he should have.

The train was crowded, and once it cleared out a little I noticed this even skinnier guy on the other side of the doors who had his legs so wide apart that his feet must have been 5 feet apart. He took up the whole seat, yet he was small.

No sooner do I notice this guy than, at the next stop, the driver comes out and approaches him. I can't hear them talking, but I see the guy get up. I notice that he has a yellow rain slicker around his waist. The way he's holding it there, I got the distinct impression that the yellow rain slicker was the only thing around his waist. The driver kicked him off the train, and we were off again.

Wow. That goodness he didn't drop that slicker!
