Today

--I saw a guy in the el station who looked like Neil Young wearing a fancy suit. It looked odd.

--This happened the other day, but, you know you have been playing Grand Theft Auto 3 too much when you are walking down the street in real life, see an armored truck, and think, "I should steal that because I need to check that one off the list." And then I remember, it's just a game.

--Materialism has gone to far: I saw a woman running this morning with a Gucci fanny pack. That nice (can a fanny pack actually be nice?) fanny pack on someone wearing lycra workout clothes looked absolutely rediculous.

--A father was running (not jogging as if for exercise, but just to be fun) while pushing his daughter in a stroller. She was laughing her head off and having a great time going really fast.

--It was cool this morning. I'm wearing a long-sleeved shirt and jeans, and I was cool. It's July, right?

Independence Day

I hope all those who celebrated had a happy and safe Independence Day.

I had a leisurely day. I went to the liquor store for Labatt Blue and cider, and to Osco for milk and snacks. Tim came over. We watched TV, including tennis and the final movie episode of M*A*S*H. Such a great show.

One of the best things about my apartment is that I can see fireworks from several different towns. We just sat along my living room window with our alcohol and snacks and watched the fireworks, pointing out cool ones to each other. It was nice.

Reverend Horton Heat
My friend Karen called me up last week. Her roommate got 4 tickets to see Reverend Horton Heat as a gift, and had an extra one, and wanted to know if I wanted to use it. Now, I have heard all of like 2 songs, but I thought they were okay. The ticket was free. I had nothing else going that night. I'm broke so it's not like I'm going to any other concerts any time soon. And I haven't seen Karen in a long time. So I figured what the heck, I'll go. Am I glad I did. I really had a great time, even though I couldn't see much with the tall guy and the fat guy right in front of me. But the music was great. I really, really enjoyed it. Now I must pick up some Reverend Horton Heat albums. It was just awesome.
