I'm a busy bee

I have been so busy lately. I have been revising drafts of my dissertation proposal (I hope to turn my last one in tonight), I've been slammed at work, and I've had friends in town. My mom and I did manage to take some time out last weekend, and we headed to Springfield, Illinois.

We went to the Executive Mansion, the Illinois Capitol Building, Lincoln's Tomb, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, the Museum of Funeral Customs, and on the Lincoln Ghost Walk Tour. Here are a few photos for your viewing pleasure.

Interesting parking garage

Executive Mansion. I wasn't aware that the mansion is run on donations, and not tax dollars. Intersting.

Statue of Abraham Lincoln in front of Illinois Capitol. The building is absolutely gorgeous on the inside.

You are supposed to rub his nose for good luck!

I took a lot more pictures, but I will spare you for now. Perhaps I will post more later.
