Random Thoughts

-There was a man on the train today with a voice so loud that even though I had headphones on I could still hear him loud and clear.

--I saw a homeless man today carrying a shopping bag from Treasure Island. Treasure Island is a small upscale grocery store in Chicago. Not the cheapest place to get stuff, and they have a lot of imported items. It struck me as odd that he had a shopping bag from where rich people shop.

--I'm going to see The Eye tonight for free.

--Pearl Jam puts on a really good show.

--The White Sox will be playing 3 games at Wrigley this weekend. I really wish I had tickets for tomorrow's game. Go Cubbies!

Pearl Jam Concert 6/18

Yeah. Last night I saw Pearl Jam. Good times.

Idlewild opened. I really liked them. I only recognized a few songs from the ones I downloaded when I found out they were the opening act, but I really enjoyed them. I think seeing them would be way better if it was in a club, not an arena, though.

Pearl Jam came out. They were great. What I like about them is they mostly just play music. Not a lot of patronzing the crowd or talking. Just a bit. Eddie Vedder sort of dedicated "Love Boat Captain" to his grandma who was at the show. He was sick. He was blowing his nose between songs, and at one point, during a guitar solo, he went to the side of the stage and was drinking lots of water and coughing. He still put on a great show, though.

Beautiful Day

It's so lovely out today. The sun is shining and it's warm enough to not need a jacket. It's the first beautiful day we have had in a while, and there have only been a couple so far this spring.

I wore one of the new pairs of sandals today. They are comfy enough, at least more than the last ones, but the soles are hard, so the balls of my feet hurt from the pounding on concrete.

Tonight I'm going to a play. My friend Elaine's fiance is in it. I'm really looking forward to it. I have never seen him act. Before I'm meeting Elaine for coffee. I haven't seen her in months, and that's odd because when we lived in the same building we saw each other almost every day. But now she lives in another neighborhood. She is a lawyer and I'm trying to study full-time and work part-time. And our schedules clash a lot. We have a lot of catching up to do.
